Local Heroes Trade Association: Gas Safe

In 2009, Gas Safe replaced CORGI as the UK’s gas registration body.

Since then, they have maintained the Gas Safety Register, the official list of UK businesses who are registered to work safely and legally on boilers, cookers, fires and all other gas appliances.

The purpose of the Gas Safe Register is to protect the public from unsafe gas work, and they do this by ensuring that every business working with gas employs one or more engineers with a verified Gas Safe ID card.

They inspect the work of Gas Safe registered engineers and investigate reports of illegal gas work. They also run public awareness campaigns to raise the general public’s awareness of gas safety issues.
