Keeping things running smoothly, the Ops guys make sure customers and Heroes have the best experience and get all the support they need.

Operations Support Assistant

Location: Central London

Description

Responsibilities for the role will vary and will be split between the customer and the Local Hero.

Customer activities will include providing first line support to customers to manage any issues, complaints or queries, liaising with the Local Hero and the customer until a resolution is achieved.

The Local Hero side will include, recruiting, processing applications and vetting – ensuring the Local Heroes are legally compliant i.e. they have the required insurance certifications and qualifications.

As a lynchpin in the process, the Operations Support Assistant will provide continuous feedback and learning to the Operations and Product Leads to ensure we continue to learn and change the product to deliver a great experience for both customer and Local Hero.

Front-End React Dev

Description

We are looking for an experienced React developer with strong NodeJS experience to join a fast-growing collaborative team based in our central London office.

We are beginning to use React and progressive web apps to deliver a first-class customer experience rivalling that of a full native solution. You will get to work at the leading edge as this technology gains more browser support. You will also be supporting the delivery of this React application in iOS using a native wrapper, while iOS support of PWAs rolls out.

You will have proven experience of delivering high quality change in a fast-moving agile environment. You will have excellent JavaScript. You will ideally have knowledge of and an interest in DevOps, and would expected own and deploy your own code to QA and production.

Working with passionate, tech driven and enthusiastic individuals on a day to day basis, you will form part of a cross-functional squad and guide the technology and architecture to deliver your features.

Key skills

  • Excellent recent and demonstrable React experience.
  • Experience of working with lean startup/agile development methodologies
  • Good Agile, TDD and CI experience.
  • Knowledge and experience of AWS cloud components a big advantage
  • Energy and motivation to get things done, working to ambitious timescales and overcoming obstacles with a can-do attitude to just get things done
  • A great team worker - working in a tight cross-functional team and able to communicate to and with everyone
  • Knowledge of DevOps tooling an advantage, but not essential. Wercker, Terraform, Atlas etc

Full Stack Developer – NodeJS / Angular / React

We are looking for an experienced Full-Stack developer to join a fast growing collaborative team based in our central London office, working closely with highly skilled engineering, product and marketing teams as we support an ambitious national roll out of our business.

You will have proven experience of delivering high quality change in a fast-moving agile environment. You will have excellent Node.JS. You will ideally have knowledge of and an interest in DevOps, and would expected to be involved in the improvements we are undertaking around CI/CD

You will be working with passionate, tech driven and enthusiastic individuals on a day to day basis. Working as part of a small flexible team you also be expected to be able pick up deliver features into a Node API service supporting SPA frameworks (Angular and React).

Key skills

Salesforce Engineer

Location: Central London

Description

A talented Salesforce engineer is required to join small and growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to shape a Salesforce implementation currently in its early adoption stage

You will be one of two people joining, working with our existing Salesforce expert, you will lead on all architectural decisions, and on the roll-out and implementation of Salesforce as the team grows.

You will be responsible for delivering functionality to support and automate the commercial and operational areas of the business as we expand and continue to roll out the business to full UK coverage.

You will have excellent experience working with MI suites, and will guide on the adoption of tools to both provide key KPI reporting capabilities, and adhoc business data mining.

The role will be responsible for configuring and customising Salesforce based on business requirements, as well as working on the selection/implementation/integration of an MI solution

Key skills

  • Be able to collaborate with business owners to clarify user story content and associated artefacts
  • Acting as a technical architect - design elegant Salesforce solutions to deliver business benefit whilst avoiding over complication.
  • Build solutions which leverage the appropriate aspects of the platform – APEX, VisualForce, Config etc
  • Demonstrate solutions to internal team members and business stakeholders
  • Use best practice techniques to ensure a clear, maintainable and defect-free build – unit test creation, naming conventions etc
  • Document solutions to a high standard, so support team members can easily understand what has been delivered and how it has been built
  • Maintaining a strong working relationship with BAs, testers and other developers.

Digital Optimisation Manager

Location: Central London

Description

Drive improvements in the performance of the Local Heroes website. Analysing the performance of the site through the funnel from impression to job and making recommendations for optimisation.

Accountabilities

  • Lead and develop testing of site performance and thorough evaluation of any changes, using A/B testing tools as appropriate.
  • Act as the owner and champion for conversion data and tracking (including e.g. GA Tracking events etc.); driving the implementation of analytics and tag management products across multiple platforms.
  • Assist in defining the ‘Conversion rate optimisation’ strategy for the business
  • Monitor site conversion rates on a daily basis; making recommendations for improvements.
  • Designing our tracking strategy and working with the Product and Development teams to ensure conversion tracking is considered as an integral part of all development activity.
  • Working across a matrix team, ensuring integration, delivery and strategic alignment
  • Ensure that the Local Heroes/ British Gas brand is accurately reflected in any marketing activity undertaken and adhere to our guidelines when representing the brand. Apply British Gas values in all day to day activities.

Knowledge and Experience - Essential

  • Highly numerate, Intellectually inquisitive and mad about technology.
  • Experience of Web Analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics) and Google Tag Manager
  • Experience of A/B and MVT tools - in particular Maxymiser
  • A friendly, approachable yet resilient and tenacious individual; adept at stakeholder management and able to build excellent relationships to fit in quickly and seamlessly as a valued member of a highly skilled team.
  • A strong team player with the ability to think from a commercial as well as an analytical perspective
  • Ability to think beyond the realms of current approaches and tenacity to challenge the status quo, able to contribute meaningfully to strategic discussions and decision making.
  • Ability to operate effectively within a constantly changing environment and deliver work on time every time to the highest possible standards.
  • Strong influencing and communication skills to operate successfully across the matrix organisation

Knowledge and Experience - Desirable

  • Conversion rate optimisation skills.
  • Experience of other A/B and MVT tools (e.g. Optimisely, Sitespec or similar)
  • Good understanding of existing and emerging content trends, technologies, channels and best practice
  • Ability to make data led optimisation decisions that will drive performance improvements
  • Working knowledge of Google tools like AdWords, Google Search Console is desirable
