Local Heroes wins at the Peer Awards!
Local Heroes is proud to announce that we’ve won two awards at the Peer Awards! The Peer Awards for Excellence celebrates inspirational business initiatives.
We entered the Customer Engagement category with an awards paper titled ‘Creating a customer-led proposition and culture’. The main theme was about how being customer obsessed has allowed Local Heroes to satisfy customers’ continually changing needs in the home services market.
The paper detailed how the Local Heroes team listen to feedback daily from two groups of customers: the customer who has a job completed in their home, and the tradesperson, aka Hero. We also explained to the judges how we use technology to ensure that all team members have access to a continuous live stream of customer feedback, and how we act on their needs.
“Coming from a position where I have found it hard to get tradespeople to obsess about their customers, the achievement and engagement of this initiative stands out”
The judges were so impressed by the entry that it was shortlisted in the overall judging criteria award for ‘impact’, which we also won!

“Of the entries submitted, this is my favourite as it is really clear what the service is, why it is innovative and the impact that it has had. Coming from a position where I have found it hard to get tradespeople to obsess about their customers, the achievement and engagement of this initiative stands out” - Peer Awards Judge
The prestigious awards, held in London, are peer marked by other finalists including leading businesses. It’s a great achievement to win, especially as we beat lots of other big brands in a range of sectors to the top spot.
Mat Moakes, Head of Local Heroes, said “I’m incredibly proud of the Local Heroes team for winning not just one, but two Peer Awards. We are constantly working hard to make our customers and Heroes lives easier, and it’s great to have this recognised. We’ve got even more in the pipeline for both our customers and Heroes this year, so stay tuned!”
