Covid-19 and essential services
Due to the ongoing Covid-19 situation, we at Local Heroes are making temporary changes to our services. This is to comply with government advice and to protect our customers and the tradespeople on our platform while still being able to provide essential services during this uncertain time.
As the most pressing guideline is to limit physical contact and practice social distancing, on Wednesday we made the proactive decision to only allow essential jobs to be booked through our platform.
Until such measures are lifted, we will only be allowing jobs in heating and gas, plumbing, electrical and drainage to be booked on our platform.
While the Government’s guidelines aren’t convenient for anyone, it is the most vulnerable in our communities that will struggle the most during this time. With this in mind, we have added options for customers to mark themselves as vulnerable or in an at-risk group when booking essential jobs.
Camilla Benitz, managing director of Local Heroes, says "The Local Heroes team is currently working 100% remotely. This, combined with self isolation, has placed strain on our resources.
"By limiting the services we offer, we can ensure that we are still able to provide essential services while considering the health and safety of our customers, the tradespeople on our platform and our team."
